Less children per family and one thing is that once a girl married outside the state, they won’t be counted in the census anymore. So the woman’s husband and children may live in the woman’s family house but they won’t be counted in the census. This is done to not allow outside people to gain statehood as surnames follow patriarchal lineage and it’s how it is in the society.
