I had sciatica while working in Korea... Korean ortho treated me like this

First with pain relief tablets like brufen etc.. no relief

Second he suggested tri-weekly ultrasonic + hot/cold treatment which reduced the pain but not completely.. + I was taking brufen once a day

In cold Korean winters, pain was more, so in third step he gave "subarachnoid hypothermic saline injection" which means injecting salt water at around 10-12 places in back and upper neck.. and weekly ultrasonic treatment ... after three saline injections spread over 6 months, pain completely subsided.. except occasional (once in every 6 months) when I will take one 400 mg brufen.
