Why are Indian women like this?
See, if that woman sided with you, she'd have faced further backlash and harassment with added charges of infidelity and siding with 'other man publicly' by her husband, in-laws and these lead to severe harassment. Again, she cannot go back to her parents because it's a common saying in India that, "a parent should rather see their daughter dead then unmarried and sitting at their parents'home" or "byah k baad arthi sasural se hi uthni chahiye". Nobody cares about the cause of death, everyone knows. She may have children at home who bear further consequences. Also, it's not that difficult for these kinda guys to remarry for dowry. In-fact, he must be beating her to get more dowry. It's a well-known fact 'agar maa dusri ho jae to baap teesra ho jata hai' (if you have a second mother, the father acts as if he is some third party to matters related to his children).
She practically has no escape but to bear. If she complains, they're taught to bear and they deserve it for sins from their previous lives.
Patriarchy works very systematically.
Sita mata had to literally burn in fire to prove herself, they're culturally expected (it's drilled in their minds) to go through harassment for their husbands. Added to it, Manusmruti (the text) gives gore and elaborate details of how a man should beat his wife to free her of her natural sins (a woman's body is considered a work of devil while a man is godsent to bring her to heaven by beating the natural traces of devil in her). These satsang sing ballads of it ingraining it inside the heads of people. -

common sense proposal for law and order
This is how oligarchy is sustained in other parts of the world, and largely how it worked in early America. Oligarchs were given unlimited authority as long as they placated the masses with the financing of things like roads and other infrastructure (there are about a million “John D Rockefeller highway”s).
It’s not the solution. Billionaires cannot be allowed to exist as long as they simply satisfy the masses with a pittance in donation. -
At what age did you become fully independent and stopped relying on parents support ?
I never practically relied on my parents. I was doing odd jobs since I was 17-18 to support my expenses. Even though my brother was abroad I never received any monetary benefits from him -
Dear NE, this sub is pretty much representative of what happens when u have unchecked large scale immigration.
The word you're looking for is called freedom of speech. As a mainlander, there are two kinds of posts made by us in this sub. The first is fetishising NE women, and if you check my prior comments, I'm as active as the rest of you guys to shut those down.
The second post is of the kind where genuine curiosity has been expressed about NE. Unfortunately, the region was ignored for a very long time by New Delhi, so much so that it's easier to find global cuisines in Mumbai more so than North Eastern cuisine.
I think these kind of posts are respectful and genuinely wish to engage with, understand and uphold the culture of the various groups inhabiting NE. Don't you guys want to market your culture? So why speak out against people who want to learn about it lol?
Could you please share some specific examples of mainlander posts that are demeaning, degrading or derail the discussion? If yes, why don't you report these posts to the mods? -
Looking for an Early Adopter to test my product [ I will not promote ]
I think with something like a Google calendar organizer it’s not only the uncertainty of the new system but also the possibility of their privacy being compromised.
Possibly sign waivers that you and anyone involved will ensure that nothing will happen and you’re just a tool to keep their business more efficient. -
