When I started at 24, I was working in a call center earning ₹13K per month. I was in the same situation as you, feeling stuck. So, I decided to quit and enroll in a diploma course.

After 9 months of college, I landed a job paying ₹25K in hand. From there, I focused on honing my skills, and within a year, my salary jumped to ₹40K. The next year, I switched jobs and got ₹60K. Fast forward two and a half years, and I now earn ₹1.4L per month.

P.S. I’m not from STEM, and my field IMO has more competition than engineering when it comes to landing a job.

Lesson: Always pursue a job you’re genuinely passionate about. The early phase of a career pays less, and that’s when most people give up. But if you love what you do, it becomes an enjoyable hustle. Also, I was an average student—scored 68% in 10th and 58% in 12th—so marks aren’t everything in life.

Lastly, don’t chase money. Money is just a function of excellence. Even though I didn’t crack IIT one of my seniors who was from IITKGP told me to chase excellence instead of completion.
