I think I just have a delayed sleep phase or something because melatonin isn't supposed to work on actual insomnia. I use 2 layers of blackout curtains, a sleep mask, Mack's slim-fit earplugs (I find that normal slim fit earplugs are far more durable and comfortable to sleep with than earplugs advertised as sleep earplugs), and 2 types of melatonin in combination (half a natrol fast dissolve 1mg and a full natrol extended release 3 mg).
