I remember having the same question when I moved here few years ago. Mumbai is extremely congested and no amount of ‘spirit of Mumbai’ is going to cover for all the lack of infrastructure and bureaucratic ineptitude and corruption that this city faces. The same is trickling to Thane looking at the increase in traffic and housing prices. I myself prefer working in companies closer to my area, allowing me max 1 hour of travel. Does it limit my career options? Definitely. Does it give me some peace of mind as opposed to when I had to travel minimum 3-4 hours a day? Absolutely.
