I don't know enough about fintech to know how much up front work is normal, but unless they've spent serious investment up until this point it should be equal or you should be paid. I was suicidal in my childhood and teenage, from the age of 10-18. Its difficult to believe that a child can be suicidal but I had a pretty rough childhood and dying seemed the easiest solution. During this age, I tried to kill myself a lot of times but I couldn't do it due to having no privacy in my house.

There are 4 members in my family living in a 1 BHK house and we rarely go outside. During those years if I was left alone in the house just for a single day during, I probably would've hanged myself. I used to harm myself too, I once made a really smooth cut on my skin and a lot of blood came out of it.

Then one random day at the age of 19, I was thinking about death, I imagined it so deeply and sensed a glimpse of it which is extremely difficult to describe, that single moment changed my perspective towards life. I never felt suicidal after that. At 20, my life is still shit but I'll never consider dying for sure.
