Mangalore cultural observations after 27 years Following up on my previous post on infrastructure this is my observation visiting Mangalore after 27 years. I left Mangalore in 1997 at age 17 to United States. 1. Lot more men and women wear casual western clothing on streets ( no lungi, dhoti etc). Lot more salwar kameez. In the 90s, majority of women wore sarees. 2. I saw lot more women wearing burqas compared to the 90s. 3. Catholic wedding are more traditonal and indian now. Saw people wear lungi dhoti, saw traditonal village traditions at a... 4 6 replies
Why UPCL ( uttarakhand light department) sucks These people whoever working there if you are reading this please do some work. I am from a rural town and any days when people required electricity the most there is no electricity ( i think there equipment don't handle the load demand) also at night time at peak load they provide under voltage). Don't think of using heaters on rainy days in winter because there will be no power for sure because of demand is very high and this happened only to rural area because VIP people and... 1 5 replies

How many waitlist sign-ups are enough to validate an idea? I’ve been working on a tool that uses AI to help businesses find the best platforms to reach their audience, generate tailored content, and track leads. It’s still early days, but we’ve set up a landing page with a waitlist to gauge interest. I’m curious—how many sign-ups would you consider enough to validate an idea like this? Would love to hear your thoughts! 3 10 replies
How do u see Taarak Mehta getting 2.0 trp at this point even after 4200 plus episodes I mean jaha Anupama, jhanak, Yrkkh jaise shows ki trp dagmaga jaati hai every now and then that they have to come up with leaps...Tmkoc bringing trp 2.0 at this point of time is surreal.. We can't ignore the fact that at the end it is business...so with same cast giving them employment for 16 fucking years is not an easy thing... Moreover i saw a recent interview of Dr Hathi...where he said a very important thing about tmkoc.....that every actor has achieved its fame in tmkoc...even Lord Pinku... 1 3 replies
From Main Lead to Villain? Are there any tv serials where actors were roped to play the main leads anf then turned into villains and someone else became the lead. All I can think of are these two characters. Shreya in Tumhi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi where she was the lead in all promos along with Neil and then suddenly she was turned into villain with the other brother and wife (played by Chandni) became the leads. Ragini in Swaragini, although she was a parallel lead but still a lead! Later the entire focus... 5 4 replies

Need Help for a Friend: Struggling After Trauma Caused by Family and School Incident ** My friend is going through an extremely tough time, and I wanted to seek advice for him. He’s genuinely good at studies, but his family, especially his father, has been doing something that’s really affecting his mental health. Here’s what happened: Despite his hard work and focus, his father is overly worried about him not attending school regularly while preparing for NEET. Why people say, Gukesh won because of blunder? I don’t get why people focus on Gukesh winning *because* of a blunder rather than highlighting just how badly Ding blundered in the first place. And let’s not forget—none of the Indian reporters stepped up when a few of the old Russian hogs said that 'Chess is over as we know it,' just because they couldn’t handle an 18-year-old winning. Apparently, according to them, Gukesh’s victory would only count if he delivered a picture-perfect checkmate. What’s even weirder is the lack of discussion about Ding’s underwhelming performance while Gukesh... 2 10 replies

Born to be a NEET Anyone else feel like they were pretty much born to live the NEET life? Even as a child, I had zero idea of what I wanted to do later in life. Not even anything fantastical like becoming an astronaut or super hero. People would ask me what kind of job I would want to do later for school assignements and stuff. When I said "I don't know", they would say "but you HAVE to pick something", so I would make up excuse-answers. It's almost funny, because growing up on... 10 0 replies
