    Police appreciation post

I live near Varthur. There is a construction site right beside my apartment building. They keep the work going all through the night welding, hammering, concrete mixing and shouting. The noise is not unbearable but it's irritating enough. It has been going on for a few days now. Last night I couldn't take it anymore and called 112 but wasn't very hopeful. The lady on the phone said she's referring this to Vathur police station. Surprisingly I received a call from Varthur PS within a minute. The cop asked...

    A319 fuselage: Update/ request

Woke up to a LOT of DM's regarding the location of the fuselage. I've tried my best to message everyone. So two things: 1) They might start renovation works on the fuselage anytime soon. It might not be accessible if they do. So to anyone who wants to visit, please do asap. 2)Also would be really cool if you guys shared pictures from your visit/ tagged me in any posts about your visit. I'd love to see how my small post on this sub has led people to visit...

Am I the only one who thinks they are at this point just dragging this show? Things that are not even mentioned in the Valmiki Ramayan, over dramatization?

On the limitations of nominal GDP per capita in USD

It’s not a good metric for development and it can be deceptive and obfuscate growth. For instance, I made this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskEconomics/s/5ZKFoBQEju China’s nominal GDP per capita in USD remained roughly the same for the past four fiscal years despite the economy growing at 4-6% annually. Why? Because the yuan was constantly getting devalued against the USD so the GDP per capita in local currency(Yuan) reflected the growth but not USD. Same principle applies in India: Andhra Pradesh’s GDP, despite growing nearly 2 lakh crore, will be roughly the...

I have 8 years of consulting experience with 5 years in product related roles, primarily as a requirements lead across large digital transformation programs for Canadian Banks. Roles included standard BA/BSA tasks along with acting as POs proxy on the team. I also led a team of BA/BSAs as the requirements lead. Experience is in lending and wealth management. Sell to cut losses in bad stock or hold for long term?

Poor research led to me getting into a large position in Equitas SFB when it was overvalued (Rs. 90) and the CMP is Rs. 64. This one stock comprises of around 5% of my total portfolio and is single-handedly dragging my portfolio down. I never thought of having any stop loss when I buy because I always buy for long term investing and always do thorough research for companies with solid fundamentals. I can think of a few possible things to do. 1. Hold on to this for the...
