So many effigies popping up I don't know but I'm seeing a lot of santa effigies popping up across several areas to be burnt on nye... Saw one recently near ngo quarters kakkanad and that too in the middle of the road with little to no security/enforcement causing accident if burnt irresponsibly. Mangalore cultural observations after 27 years Following up on my previous post on infrastructure this is my observation visiting Mangalore after 27 years. I left Mangalore in 1997 at age 17 to United States. 1. Lot more men and women wear casual western clothing on streets ( no lungi, dhoti etc). Lot more salwar kameez. In the 90s, majority of women wore sarees. 2. I saw lot more women wearing burqas compared to the 90s. 3. Catholic wedding are more traditonal and indian now.
