Why have I been getting so many small creators on my feed?

Why do I get so many small creators and no big creators anymore? Not complaining just curious. I noticed recently, within the last year, a LOT of OG big youtubers have left youtube with the excuse that "Youtube is no longer the same, the algorithm is different, etc." I've also noticed for the past couple months, I've been getting a lot of really small creators on my feed, like folks with like 10-200 views, maybe a couple hundred subs. I've never seen stuff like this in my 10 years on Youtube. I love it though because some of these videos are extremely well made, it feels like art. You can see theres so much passion in some of these people's channels, they're doing it solely because they actually like creating, as opposed to solely chasing fame. This leads me to my conspiracy theory hypothesis. Has the algorithm changed to prioritize content that is actually catered towards viewers / promotes smaller channels, as opposed to just having the same big youtubers on everyone's feed? Are the big youtubers quitting bc they're not being boosted on the feed and they know they don't have a dedicated enough fanbase to consume their content without flashy thumbnails being pushed onto everyone's feed?
