Why does YouTube keep recommending content I don’t want, even after I’ve snoozed it multiple times?

My YouTube recommendations have become unbearable and out of control. Every time I scroll, every 3rd or 4th row is filled with Shorts. I’ve tried to get rid of them by clicking “X” and snoozing them for 30 days, but they still keep coming back every time I visit YouTube. On top of that, my recommendations consist of a handful of videos that YouTube keeps aggressively pushing, even though I haven’t clicked on them in months. I’ve had to clear my watch and search history several times (almost every month) to reset things, but the issue persists. I’m now forced to go directly to my subscribed channels to see content I’m actually interested in. I’m using YouTube on Firefox with the uBlock Origin addon on my PC, and I don’t have YouTube Premium. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have a solution to fix or at least improve these recommendations?
