Places to visit with my dog

Are there any places I can visit with my pet dog? Any safe places with less street dogs. I'm not much bothered about street dogs but I'm scared if they will hurt my puppy. Because the last time I took him for a walk, strays started barking at him. I took him on my shoulders and ran back to my car.
