Proprietary trading to start?

Start on FTMO? Hi. Tried stock trading before after paying for & completing a comprehensive course but no success. I'd like to try intra day trading but aware it's very hard. I just came across the prop trading firm option & considering using a demo account to learn a solid strategy & practice my RM etc then if I find I can do it, try complete a challenge. This would validate if I can actual trade, any thoughts? Anyone do this, trade prop account get payouts & & then have the pieces in place to go independent to a retail account?
