[Feedback request] Choosing a broker as a French trader
Hello traders! For a little context, I have been studying and paper trading for a year now and intend to go live later in 2025. I plan on day trading and swing trading US stocks only, using a margin account. I am a tax resident of France and will fund my account with EUR. I’m currently in the process of choosing my broker and thus digging their websites, slogging through their GTCs, compiling their commissions & fees, gauging users’ sentiment in different subreddits, exhausting ChatGPT’s patience and, at the same time, bringing my ADHD ass-brain to the verge of implosion. Unsurprisingly, there are huge discrepancies between brokers, sometimes even flagrant contradictions between a given broker’s French and English websites, tons of details, 4 font sized footnotes, and valuable information hidden in Balrog-worthy depths of said websites. French traders lurking in this sub, would you be so kind to share the reasons that made you choose one broker over another, direct me to resources that helped you make this choice, or just give any related feedback? Through a first-level scan, I identified **Interactive Brokers** and **DEGIRO** as the most popular / suited brokers to trade US actions. I started my benchmark with them but welcome feedback about any other broker. Trade well and take care!4
