Mining scam - why no noise?

The recent murder of activist Jagaber Ali, an ADMK functionary, has brought no commotion in our lives. He had meticulously collected evidence of a mining scam and submitted complaints to high ranking officer. Looks like a Tahsildar leaked it to the accused. 3 days later the activist is dead. I’m not sure if we realise this or not - TN is no longer the amaithi poonga, violent deaths are getting more common and there seems to be almost no media shakedown or citizen protests. We go on with our lives just like nothing happened. I voted for DMK for its social justice stance, but it almost feels like korangu kaila poo malai now.
