DMK, Legislature and Democracy

Current DMK government’s handling of legislature is a worrying trend. 1. Except for passing special resolutions for which the Assembly session is held for one day, this is the first time in the history of the 72-year Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. 2. This year, the Assembly session has been held only for 18 days and debates have been held only for 14 days and Department related debates have been held only for eight days 3. DMK’s election manifesto promised 100 days per of assembly sessions and live telecasting assembly processing. Promises yet to be kept. Modi never answers question in parliament and BJP has made parliament proceedings a joke and now DMK is following the path.
