  • Need Advice: Best Way to Visit Navagraha Temples from Chennai

Hey folks, I'm planning a temple trip to the Navagraha temples and could use some advice. I live near Poonamallee in Chennai, and I'm a bit confused about the travel time and best mode of transport. From my place to Thirunallar, it shows as 280 km, but I'm puzzled why 200 km to Thiruvannamalai took 3 hours, while 280 km to Thirunallar shows as 6 hours. (Total noob here, haven't done many long drives, so genuinely curious.) Here's my situation: * I have access to a car. * I'm 29M and will be travelling with my two senior citizen parents. I'm trying to decide between two options: 1. Driving from Chennai to Thirunallar and the other 8 temples near Kumbakonam, then driving back to Chennai (which is another 6 hours). I can even hire a driver if needed. 2. Opting for a one-day bus trip organised by STC in Kumbakonam. They pick you up, arrange for breakfast, dinner, and any special darshan necessary, and return to Kumbakonam. I can book a bus from Chennai to Kumbakonam, take this one-day bus option, and then return to Chennai by bus. For those who have travelled by car or bus, could you share your experiences? Any positive or horror stories to keep in mind? Which option would you recommend? Looking forward to your wisdom and advice! Thanks in advance!
