  • Why so much hate for Kathiyawadi people on this sub?

I’ve noticed a lot of negativity towards Kathiyawadis, and I think it’s unfair. Sure, sometimes people from these communities may lack civic sense, but let’s take a moment to understand their journey. Many of them were farmers, and their entire childhood was spent in villages—of course, they don’t have your so-called fashion sense. They come from non-educational backgrounds, have worked incredibly hard to stand on their own feet, and don’t come from generational wealth or privileged positions. They’re building better lives, and the new generation is becoming more educated, which will naturally lead to improvements in civic behavior over time. Also, if you haven’t seen the list of the richest people in Surat, take a look—more than 50% of them are Kathiyawadi. So don’t judge someone by their clothes or background; they’re evolving, from fashion sense to every other aspect of life. Have you ever been to Kathiyawad and spent time there? If not, I encourage you to visit and experience the warmth and resilience of these people for yourself. Stop the unnecessary hate and be more empathetic.
