Does anyone have an idea when options trading in US markets will be allowed for Indians?

Pretty much what the title says. Reasons why I am looking into US derivates markets: * Indian stocks don't have much liquidity when it comes to options trading. * There is no way to hold leap options since there is no expiry beyond 2 months. * There is no weekly expiry for stock options * There are very limited number of stock that have options chain enabled. None of these are hindrances in the US markets, which makes running various options strategies easier and smoother in that market. I know that currently (per RBI) we can't open a margin account for trading in US markets. But, is GoI even thinking of allowing in near future? Are there any bills/policies being discussed around this? Is there even a chatter somewhere?
