Week 3 Update - Swing Trading with 1L
Previous update: [https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianStockMarket/comments/1hen5v5/swing\_trading\_with\_1l\_verified\_pl\_added/](https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianStockMarket/comments/1hen5v5/swing_trading_with_1l_verified_pl_added/) **Week 3 update:** Equity curve up by 9.1% in 3 weeks. https://preview.redd.it/huppmhku978e1.png?width=1100&format=png&auto=webp&s=98bf403862e6f1f58bbca08142ca95f00fb25135 Surprisingly, most of my stocks remained unaffected from the recent volatility, managing to be up 1% for the week even when Nifty is down nearly 5% for the week. I attribute this 80% to luck and 20% to stock selection. Only 2 GTT orders triggered this week - one sell and one buy. \-------------------------- **How I am screening for stocks:** I am using screener to look for stocks above their 50MA with a volatility contraction over the last 4 days and atleast a 30% growth in sales in the latest quarter. The stock must already by in an uptrend and in the top 50% of its current base. I will not buy a stock if it has already broken out of a base recently and moved more than 20%. For finding the best stocks out of the results, I look at the strongest sectors and give preference to the strongest of the lot. Recently, realty stock have been very strong and they get first preference. \-------------------------- **How I am buying:** I am using only GTT orders on this account, buying a stock as it breaks out of the contraction. I set a 2-3 GTT orders in a day (if I am looking to take a new position the next day). \-------------------------- **How I am selling:** I place a GTT stoploss while placing the buy order itself. The stoploss is trailed everyday depending on the moves in the stock. Every big move after entry brings my stop to the low of that day, and every shakeout does the same. The stoploss does not get trailed until I have achieved atleast 2x of the initial stoploss % in gains. \-------------------------- Feel free to ask questions and share your thoughts.5
