Bloomberg terminal, now what ?

Hii, I have access to a Bloomberg terminal, i have heard that it gives news ahead of time, is it true in anyway? Also, I am looking to understand finance at a deep level, how can I use it to learn finance. PS- I am a beginner. I want to begin with equity swing trading and soon learn about Futures and options trading. I would say I have a basic knowledge of finance. And I am able to use and navigate the Bloomberg terminal, but I have no idea how I use it to my advantage.
