Do ya'll use press releases often? What's the strategy?

I just published my first one, and it was picked up by a smaller distributor. Pretty excited to see if it results in onboarding any early users. Has anyone else had experience with press releases? Are there strategies to take when doing them, perhaps a certain number, days in between, etc?
