Us citizen being offered a co founder position in a uk startup

Hi I was working as a remote contractor for this startup for last 1 year. Filed my taxes with irs as a contractor. I live in usa. The other 2 founders want me to join them and get equity as I bring huge value to them. What do I need to do from tax purposes?
