Rip apart my TAM - How I designed my "Market" slide for my pitch deck (I will not promote)
This has taken me a while but It think I've finished up my TAM analysis and wanted some feedback. First the Total Addressable Market (TAM). My product is focused on YouTube/TikTok creators. I won't go into it more than that because "I will not promote" but that should be enough for what we need. Right now there are: YouTube Creators: 65M TikTok Creators: 1.5M ... according to SocialBlade Now assuming my ARPU is $29.95 this would yield: $23.9B The issue is that this is for 2025. I need to extrapolate what this would look like NOW and in 2030. What I did was use the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine along with SocialBlade to look back at their creator accounts over time. That only took me about 20 minutes to put together. It looks like YouTube's growth was about 7.5% year over year and TikTok you could pin at 25%... These aren't insane numbers but TikTok continuing to grow at 25% I think could be argued as aggressive. However, this is part of my core hypothesis. That short form social video is going to exploded and that YouTube is dropping the ball here. So extrapolating compounded growth with the YouTube and TikTok numbers this would put me at $35B by 2030. That's a pretty health TAM and I think you could make arguments for it either way. Maybe the YouTube numbers are a bit inflated because many of the accounts don't have followers, but at the same time, I think the TikTok numbers are under represented because YouTube is dropping the ball in terms of social video growth.1
