I was doing my own work, and the guy beside me started arguing with another guy aged 35 and above. He was recording us, and I became part of it unknowingly. Now, I am afraid because I will also be seen in the video without my consent. They said they are going to upload it on the Facebook.
Why doesn't India have a law on such things where you can't record anyone or everyone without their consent and upload it on news channels for millions to see? I didn't want to be part of it, but I was also there, and they recorded it. I can't fight with them to delete that part, and I am afraid I will be seen by millions. I don't have any social media accounts for the same reasons. I feel my privacy has been violated. Technology and the internet have been a curse. I already have so many problems to deal with, and this incident again. The people there, instead of telling them to stop recording, were laughing and enjoying the scene. They could have simply told them, but no, they wanted to record it and were very adamant that they were going to upload it. Those guys were also complaining about why there was a need to record. Nowadays, people don't understand that whatever you upload on the internet is going to remain there forever, even if you try to delete from all the websites and apps, it still will never be permanently deleted. Even in reddit, the deleted posts can be retrieved. Just because they have phone, they think they have the right to do anything even if it is violating somebody's privacy. If we say this to them then we are being over smart. I think I'll lose my mind if I say more.5
