Advice on staying 2-3 weeks in Gangtok sikkim.

I can work remote for 2-3 weeks. I am planning to stay in a PG and do work from home. I would like to explore on weekdays and weekends also. Are the PGs safe ? Only valuable i'll have is the office laptop. Any tips you can give i'll be thankful.
