Question on migrating sites

I currently have a site that ranks pretty well in a particular niche. It runs on a WordPress directory theme. I'm moving to a new theme so am building a parallel site with a temp domain. When complete, I will switch over the domain. I will keep the same urls for the key pages. My question is, will this affect the SERP or will it be seamless in terms of site map?
