LTKW strategy is slow to produce a result

I am a Wedding DJ (djlouparis.com) in a relatively popular area in the US. A good segment are destination area couples and as always I am trying to stay above the fold on my rankings. I was using my PLP as my main focus for the LTKW "hudson valley wedding dj". For years I did well, struggled with a few google changes, but then got it back up to usually top 4 or better results globally. But I also am having aspirations to go beyond the hudson valley with some somewhat premium offerings so I decided to do a break away my PLP focus for the hudson valley and move it to a secondary page that has the LTKW seeded in the name. I've had some success with that on another LTKW I leverage of "catskills wedding dj". However my new hvwdj ltkw page has really only been ranking top 20, maybe getting to 16 at best. I kinda expected a flip of my primary page and this secondary page by about now. I am wondering if I should refocus my PLP back to hvwdj to regain my dominance on organics. Or maybe be more patient with Google on this one.
