Getting links

So far I relied in content creation Videos Text More pages Should I also do links? How? It seems stupid, but I used to do them with the software. It was like many webs were subscribe to the software, and we will exchange things among the people who were subscribe to the software, but that was eight years ago. I don’t know what to do now, can anybody help me?
