Thinking about moving from WP to Wix, is that a right move?
We’re a small startup, and SEO has been a constant struggle due to our lack of technical know-how and, frankly, the manpower to deal with it. We’re running a self-deployed WordPress blog as a subdomain, but it’s turned into a full-blown shitshow with problems that might seem trivial to pros but are giving us a major headache. Here’s the mess we’re dealing with: 1. Painfully slow loading times – Some of our best-performing pages are getting progressively slower, one even hitting 7 seconds. The kicker? No massive images, just plain text and some simple text charts. 2. SEO plugin refuses to play nice – Rank Math SEO won’t connect to Google Search Console. The dashboard shows a big fat zero across the board, despite the GSC account being properly linked. I suspect some deep-rooted WordPress gremlin is messing with the connection, but I have no clue where to start. 3. Google ghosting our new pages – Every new page refuses to get indexed automatically, forcing me to manually request indexing five times per post (we have multiple languages). The pages that do get indexed perform decently—some even rank on the first page for multiple keywords—so at least there’s that. But this manual indexing nonsense is slowly breaking my soul. I’d really appreciate any insights on WTF is going on and if these WordPress issues are actually fixable. Otherwise, I might just jump ship to Wix or something with fewer plugins and backend misery—at least their SEO setup is seemly easy. Any advice would be a lifesaver. 😭2
