Rankings Disappeared After Domain Migration
Hi there, I'm a seasoned SEO expert, but I've never handled a site migration before. In our company, we recently had to move to a new domain. I followed all best practices, like: * DNS, CDN, and mail updates * 301 redirects * SEO structure review * Setting up and updating Search Console, Analytics, GTM, etc. * Submitting sitemaps and updating robots.txt * Using the Site Migration tool in Search Console Now, our Search Console has been showing *"The site is currently moving to..."* for the last three months. During this process, we managed to keep our rankings on the old domain for about a month. Then, the old domain dropped, and the new one started ranking. The rankings are decent but not as strong as before—but that’s okay, as they should improve over time. The real problem is that, in our main operating country, Switzerland, our rankings have completely dropped. We were ranking #1 or #2 for dozens of high-value keywords that drive our business, but they have completely disappeared for the last two weeks. Oddly, we were\* (not anymore, we dropped in Germany too...) ranking well in Germany, even though it’s not our main market, and we don’t have offices there yet. In Switzerland, we have everything—our offices, backlinks, reviews, customers, and years of history—yet our rankings have vanished. Not even at #30 or #50. Do you have any idea why this might be happening? Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks, everyone!5
