I launched my SEO newsletter. Here is why I chose Substack
Hack the Algo This is the name of the email newsletter I started on Substack. For the past year, I was active only on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Reddit and got good results, but I understand this is not enough. **Why did I decide to start a newsletter?** 1/ I like LinkedIn / Reddit / X, but too often my followers miss my content for different reasons. 2/ Many people still don't use these platforms often. 3/ These platforms can block my account anytime for different reasons (I saw many bad examples). 4/ I love deep-dive content. The newsletter is better for such content. **Why Substack?** 1/ Option to publish a page for the web and email newsletter in 1 click. 2/ Medium also has such an option, but in my case, 1.5k post views per month on Medium don't generate email subscribers at all. I think both creators and readers don't perceive Medium as a platform for email newsletters. 3/ I subscribed to great newsletters and many of them use Substack (Kevin Indig, Eli Schwartz, Rob Snyder, Elena Verna, Adam Gent). 4/ Option to chat with your subscribers. 5/ Option to create a paid newsletter when you want. 6/ Option to add additional pages to your home page. 7/ Option for people to comment under your posts. 8/ Option to build one more asset that will generate traffic from search. Creating the first newsletter there I've been amazed at how great UX Substack has. Can you share as a reader, do you like newsletters built on Substack or do you prefer other platforms? **P.S.** Don't try to find the website by typing the brand name in Google Search. I created the website a couple of days ago, and Google has yet to recognize it as a separate brand entity.4
