How do I know if this is a "healthy" monthly search volume?
I don't know how to articulate my question very well... But I'll try my best. See, I recently started to play with SEO tools (the cheap ones) like: Mangools, Ubersuggest, Google Keyword Planner, Google Trends, etc. I'm doing this to study potential opportunities in my area that help residential painting businesses become visible on Google and generate more leads. The first thing I was curious about was *monthly search volume* for specific keywords. For example, "painters in san antonio tx". I first tried with Google Keyword Planner. It gave me a list of keywords with an average monthly search volume of 100 - 1k. Then, I tried with Mangools, and it gave me a list of keywords with more specific numbers. Like "house painter near me" with 470 average monthly searches for the last 12 months. Or "painting companies near me" with 670 average monthly searches for the last 12 months. Then I asked ClaudeAI what she thinks about these numbers and it told me it is a "healthy search volume that represents significant local intent that suggests a viable opportunity for lead generation". But I don't see the opportunity. I don't understand how these numbers are healthy. They seem quite low to me. There are quite a few painting businesses in the area that have been playing the SEO game for some time already. These numbers don't seem to represent enough customers actively looking for painting services. So, how can I realistically make sense of these numbers? What is a healthy monthly search volume? How do I know if enough interested people are looking for these services? How do I know if there's room to generate leads as a small business that is starting to build an online presence? I hope you understand my questions and help me!4
