Can you use AI to create blogs that actually work in driving traffic?

So we have tiered SEO and marketing packages that we offer, I am currently struggling with a client who is on our lowest package, I seem to have exhausted all SEO options that fall within their package. The site has become somewhat stagnant and isn't seeing too much growth despite our best efforts. I think creating new content (i.e. blogs etc) would benefit the page greatly but as the company would usually pay a copywriter this is not within our budget for this client. Hence my intrigue in generating copy for a blog using AI. My research so far has been pretty inconclusive in regards to whether people have been successful using AI for this, most people seem to be against it. Has anyone had any prolonged or legitimate success using AI to create blogs for SEO purposes? if so how? what prompts etc worked best? alternatively I would love to hear of any other solutions to my problem?
