Am I doing local SEO right?
Hey everyone. I'm a Rolfer near Detroit. It's kind of like massage and physical therapy. Not many people know it, so that's a marketing issue in itself lol. Happy to talk about the work, though maybe elsewhere. My website is serolfing.com. I've really been diving into SEO the last couple weeks and feel pretty good about my plan. Rolfing is very niche. There aren't many in the area. It's not hard to find me if you're looking for it in southeast Michigan. I sometimes get people driving an hour to see me. I'm on page 1 for "Rolfing near me" if searching in the area. However, I don't always rank higher than some others, but looking at their SEO profiles, they wouldn't be hard to overtake. DAs in the teens in Mangools. So my plan is getting just a few backlinks (Authority Builder?). Maybe a guest post or 2. I made a blog post focusing on my location since that gets recommended for local SEO but again I'm not hard to find locally. So I don't think I really need to hammer on that with many different pages. Rolfing is so niche that I think I could rank on page 1 even for "rolfing". No long tail keywords necessary. Some random Rolfers show up pretty highly. Their site profiles on Mangools don't show them doing anything special that I can see. Again DAs in the teens. Sure I only work locally but I feel I could gain a lot of traffic to my site if I write more good well-organized content and hopefully get some backlinks organically that way. I can't imagine building a bigger online presence beyond the Detroit metro area wouldn't also help me locally. But since rolfing isn't well known, I also want to reach people looking for deep tissue massage or myofascial release since they should be interested if they give it a try. I started Google local service ads just 2 days ago with that in mind. Regarding sites like ahrefs, etc. I don't even think I need them? I don't need 200 keywords to find an SEO niche. I'm thinking to get it just for a month to get details on competitors and feel like I have the best keywords to rank for beyond "Rolfing" and then only maintain something like serpfox that's cheap for keyword rank tracking. Then there's all the offline networking and marketing stuff I'm working on, but I'd appreciate it if some of you would let me know what I'm missing or screwing up with SEO.3
