AI writing tools: useless for long-form content? Or am I missing something?
I’ve spent quite a lot of time learning and testing AI’s capabilities to create decent SEO and marketing content. For that, I’ve tried probably every popular model (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude…) and tool (Jasper, Copyai, Scalenut…) And here are my conclusions and things I’m wondering about: * There’s literally no AI system or tool like those I mentioned that can just go and create a whole article at once, in good quality, even if you give it a detailed structure and all the briefing info you can imagine. What you’ll get will be superficial and lacking true insight. * What you can really do is ask a model to create text abstract-by-abstract and go through multiple feedback iterations anyway. * As for tools (again, I mean Jasper, Copyai, and others of that kind—not fine-tuning systems, etc.), I think they are totally useless. They claim they can create content, but at best, I would use them for very short and primitive formats, definitely not for long-form blog writing. My question is, why are those tools so popular, then? I went through their reviews on popular platforms, and most (hundreds and thousands!) of them are positive, like “OMG, I’m using it so much, it helps me a lot!” Why? Are people just okay with low-quality content? Are all of those enthusiastic reviewers non-professionals who don't understand the differenct? Or am I missing something about how AI tools can actually be useful? Would love to hear opinions from both sides!4
