New to pune and any help appreciated

Hi guys, so I'm new to pune and will be here for a few years minimum. So I just wanted general advice for everything pune related. I did browse the sub regarding the same but didn't find much. Sorry for the long post So I have a house to stay in shaniwar peth area and need to travel near sassoon hospital everyday. Wanted to know what the best way to travel on a daily basis is? Bus? Auto? Or? The distance is around 3km according to google maps. I don't have a 4 wheeler and don't know how to drive a 2 wheeler (unless someone wants to teach me haha). What would ideal bus stops be if needed? Approximate auto charges since meter is not followed here? Coming to the house. So I've been given basically an empty house and I want to know should I buy new electrical appliances, refrigerator, washing machine,etc or should I rent it for the duration of my stay? Any recommendations? Good tiffin services in the area. Veg/nonveg, either doesn't matter Also any leads on ISPs would also be helpful. I can understand marathi completely but my spoken marathi is quite poor, any tips to improve that from home quickly? Anything else someone new should know? What's there to do around, places to go, people to meet?
