Pune folks, need your help: Fresher ECE grad struggling to land a job
Hey Puneri #folks Quick Story: I’m a 2024 grad in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from a tier 3 college in Pune district (not even Pune lol), and honestly, job hunting feels like trying to debug someone else’s code. 🫠 A bit about me: Technical skills: Power electronics, digital electronics, embedded systems, VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, and even a lil MySQL. Experience: Did a 12-week paid internship in digital marketing (not my niche, but hey, gotta keep hustling). Current status: Sent 100+ emails to HRs and companies, but all I got is…silence. College placements? Let’s not even talk about that flop show. Now for the tea: My dad says if I don’t land a job by Jan 2025, he’s marrying me off in 6 months. Not the career “pivot” I planned for. 😭 So, dear Punekars, how does this hiring thing actually work? Some FAQs: 1. Service-based vs. Product-based companies – what’s the difference, and which one should I target as a fresher? 2. Are companies in Pune even open to hiring freshers? Or is everyone just ghosting? 3. What’s the step-by-step process to actually get hired? Like: Should I focus on LinkedIn DMs, cold emails, or applying on job portals? Do I need certifications to stand out? How do interviews usually go for freshers in ECE domains? I’m targeting Pune (it feels safer here as a girl). Fellow engineers, recruiters, or anyone in the know, I’m begging—spill the secrets! Let’s make this girlie’s career dreams come true. 💻✨ Thanks, y’all! You’re my last hope.4
