Is the canal along canal road from BT Kawade road going to be covered?

I was told that there is a plan to expand the existing canal road by extending the road above the canal. Covering it in the process. I was told that it's already sanctioned and should be done in 1-2 years. I don't know how true it is. How can I verify this? Did anyone hear something similar? EDIT: this is the canal road between Prince of Wales Drive and BT Kawade road.
