Guys, how does it feel when your efforts are not reciprocated?

Not just the efforts for your loved ones, just the general. The smallest things, like keeping the door open for a stranger so they don’t have to take the trouble. I know it’s exactly not a trouble but still. Like when I travel through metro, I always make sure that I wear my bag on the frontside just so that it won’t be inconvenience for strangers. Like holding my bag out even though it’s heavy just so others can sit there. Again, I know you’re not supposed to take a seat just for your luggage or goods. And when it comes to my friends, I go above and beyond just to help them, but when it comes to me, it’s not even the bare minimum. I am not typing all this to be a sati savitri nor am I doing it for bragging how nice I am. Just in general, how does it feel when you don’t get the same efforts or just plain reciprocation?
