Finance Enthusiast seeking help

I am 18,f pursuing B.Com Honors from Delhi University. I want to get into core finance fields like Investment Banking/ Private Equity/ Portfolio Management/ Hedge Funds/ Equity Research etc. Currently I am learning Excel and Python (Basic to Advanced level). Next I am planning to learn skills like financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, etc. I will also be preparing for CFA L1 exam this year and I’ll take 2026 exam. I will focus on maintaining 8-9 CGPA as well. Probably this will land me to a good internship in my 2nd year. I will sit for placement as well as my college attracts decent companies. Not sure about MBA in Finance as I am not really hopeful of clearing CAT. Do suggest if I am on the right track. What more or less I can do to enter the finance field right after undergrad? Also suggest how can I improve my communication skills and what other soft skills would be required for interviews or in general.
