    Finance and Relationships

Hi,  For context, I’m a 31(M) with a 25(F) girlfriend. We’ve been together for 5 years now and have goals such as owning a piece of land together, house etc. Recently I came across a piece of land and my girlfriend wanted to get it for herself. She plans to pay a downpayment of 20-30% and would finance the rest. She asked me if I could lend the amount for down payment to which I said that I didn’t have liquid cash in my accounts but I’d raise debt from the bank against my demat if needed. However she wants me to sell off my demat holdings (which I’m investing for a long term horizon) to raise capital. And when I refused to do so, she felt that I’m not being a good partner and prioritizing money over the relationship. I don’t get it, am I wrong here? Not sure what I need to do here.
