What are the options in odisha?

Hi, I am from southern part of India in a relationship with an Odisha guy. We were planning to settle down in odisha. I'm currently studying abroad and planning to comeback. What are the opportunities and available options for a Plant science major in odisha (teaching or research)? I have never visited Odisha but heard a lot about the places from him. Is it a good place to settle down and have a family? How to learn about the Odisha culture and language (just to surprise him)?
