Not being Odia enough is a flex for some Odias
Why do people think it's positive thing to not be an 'Odia', being 'Odia' isn't cool they would rather be from any Hindi-belt state How many of you have heard people saying these statements in way that makes Odia identity sound inferior such as - "Arey ama pilla ku Odia aseni, sie khali Hindi re katha haba" my mom loves to say this even tho i speak perfect Odia and every single time i reply in 'khati Odia' to let the person know i speak Odia and it's nothing to he ashamed of. "Arey tame ta bilkul Odia laguna, tame bhari good-looking" huh ? Is that supposed to be an compliment ? i get this a lot as I'm 190cm and fair skinned, okay these aren't common traits in Odisha but what about it ? what's so good about being fair and why do you think it's impossible for an Odia to have these traits ? Why is being Odia inversely proportional to being 'cool' or 'classy' for our own people, btw if you are one of those people, then let me tell you, y'all just look pathetic when you say ts.5
