  • Arun Stambha Vs Garuda Stambha

People often get confused in between the charioteer of Lord Surya ( Arun) and the carrier of Lord Vishnu ( Garuda). Arun Stambha is found just in front of the Singhadwar( lion gate or east gate). Originally it was in between the Jagamohan and Natya Mandap of the Sun temple complex in Konark and later relocated to Singhadwar of Shree Jagannath temple at Puri, during the time of Marathas. Garuda (the carrier of Lord Vishnu) is seated with folded hands on the top of Garuda stambha, which is set right in front of Ratna Vedi (Ratnasimhasan) with the goal that Garuda can guide his eyes toward the feet of lord Jagannatha. From this spot one can get a good view of lord Jagannatha, Balabhadra and Subhadra. #Garudastambha #Arunastambha #chaitanyamahaprabhu #ShreeJagannath #suntemple .For a more detailed understanding, you can log in to the following link. https://lunarsecstacy.com/2021/04/02/archaeological-monuments-may-be-used-as-global-sea-level-monitors/
