Applique Works of Pipili

Some of the elegantly designed applique items by the artisans of Pipili( Odisha, India)..The very word "Appliqué " comes from french language. The applique work is a piece of art that is done by stitching beautiful pattern on a piece of background cloth. Patterns depicting flowers, animals, etc. are made, which are then stitched beautifully on another piece of cloth. Here door/window screens, conference bags, umbrella or canopies, saree with Nabagunjara design etc... are being displayed.
