A disappointing realization after watching PARAB

I recently went to watch the movie Parab at Stuti Theatre in Bhubaneswar. I must say, the movie was fantastic. The storytelling, performances, and overall experience were top-notch. However, the audience turnout was rather disappointing, with the theater only about 40–60% occupied. After the movie ended, I noticed that the next show was for a film called BabyJohn, an action movie starring Varun Dhawan. To my surprise, this movie had a packed house with 100% occupancy. People were arriving in cars and chatting excitedly about it. This left me frustrated and disheartened. It felt like audiences were ignoring Odia movies with good storytelling and audio quality while flocking to mainstream Hindi films featuring star kids or formulaic action content. That said, Parab was a wonderful movie, and I’m glad I watched it. I just wish people would support high-quality Odia films more often.
