    Beautiful North East

Amidst the excess of negativity in this sub Reddit, I saw a post earlier talking about what we think of each other. So continuing that here is mine: Sikkimese here. (Many stereotypes, so sorry in advance. It’s also generic but also specific to my experiences. I have visited all the NE states and lived in Assam and Manipur.) Arunachali- fellow Buddhist brothers and sisters, pretty girls, cute Hindi, monasteries. Beautiful mountains, and Tawang Monastery is like going up to the heaven. Assam: Bihu dancing, those pointy colourful hats idk what they are called, friendly and helpful people. Guwahati has developed so much from what it was in the 2000s when I lived in Assam. Rhinos 🦏 Nagaland- stylish people, pretty girls, tasty pork dishes with bamboo shoot and axone which are the bestest, many tribes and Nagamese which I find fascinating to hear. Hornbill festival and rice beer, zotho I think. Their traditional dances are so nice with warrior calls and all. A little soft corner as I met a special person here. Haha Mizoram- best fashion, smart peeps, thrifting GOATS. Also very sleek traditional dress with the head gear. Manipur - Bora! (Iykyk), beautiful scenic landscapes, with the most breathtaking skies I have ever seen. Also very hardworking people. I like the traditional attire for women the best. Always in my prayers, my heart breaks to see what is happening there. When I lived there we didn’t have much to do so we would only go for picnics to Sekmai in our free times. Beautiful memories. Meghalaya- waterfalls, waterfalls and rains and more rains. Jadoh rice with pork sausage. Caves, Cherry Blossoms, Churches. Beautiful and wild. Tripura- I loved the coin jewellery , the dance on bottle, fascinating. Palaces and lakes.
