As a person from delhi or for you guys a mainlander I always wanted to know if NE people knew about their ancestors where they came from and settled , for what reason , why they left their that time hometown etc etc... Meghalaya fertility rate

Meghalaya has the second highest fertility rate in India at 2.9, just below Bihar. People say that when women are freer, they have fewer kids. But Meghalaya, the most gender equal state in India- a large part of whose society is matrilineal, easily disproves this argument. Shouldn't rest of India learn from Meghalaya?
